Frequently Asked Questions
To save you time, please review these common questions before calling or emailing:
Q. Do you take reservations?
A. Sorry due to our limited seating, we do not. To minimize any wait, we recommend dining off peak: 12-2pm & 7-9pm are the busiest.
Q. Do you have nutritional information?
A. Nutritional information is now available for several bakery products. We are working to make additional information available in the future.
Q. Do you give out recipes e.g. Reuben Sandwich?
A. We post some recipes on our website, in our newsletter and there are over 100 recipes in our cookbook. Other than that, we will try to include your requests in our Chicago Diner Cookbook Vol. 2, which should be available in 2011.
Q. Can I order a gift certificate and have it sent to someone?
A. Yes! Visit our webstore where you can order a gift card, tote bag, cookbook, or t-shirt online using your major credit card. Shipping & handling is only $2 for gift cards/ $4 for merchandise.
Q. Would Chicago Diner be interested in making a donation to a cause or non-profit organization?
A. We have limited funds available to support the community, also to help wildlife, animal rights, the environment & promote vegetarianism.
Please send an email to:
donations@veggiediner.com with your request.
PLEASE, DO NOT CALL WITH A DONATION REQUEST.
Q. I have a severe allergy to X. Can I dine at your restaurant or eat your baked goods?
A. Since our focus is on vegetarianism & offering a broad selection of menu items, we are not able to guarantee preparation of foods/desserts using equipment & utensils that have not also contacted potential allergens. Also, many foods are prepared in proximity to each other on shared equipment. Those with serious allergies should consider the risks before choosing to enjoy our foods/desserts.
Q. My child is allergic to nuts, eggs & dairy, can we order a cake?
A. Our vegan cakes are not made with eggs or dairy (milk or butter). Also, some of our desserts do not contain nuts.
