We invite you to join us in commemorating Becca Brottman at the 2nd annual Chicago Curesearch Walk.

It is difficult to comprehend that soon it will be two years since Becca left this earth, her life abbreviated by cancer.  As if passing away at age seven wasn’t enough, one third of Becca’s life was filled with cancer, doctors, and hospitals. Finding a cure means more research, money, charity, services, support, and time. 

Please join us in the walk along Chicago’s lakefront in an effort to raise awareness and money for research to cure childhood cancer. Our team goal is to have 50 walkers and raise $7500. We can only do it with your help!

Chicago Diner is a participating restaurant in Dining Out For Equality. A benefit for Equality Illinois on September 29, dine out while helping to promote a fair and unified Illinois where everyone is treated equally with dignity and respect and where all people live freely regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or expression.

A portion of Sept 29 sales goes to benefit Equality Illinois.

Thanks to all for helping make Reubens For Wildlife a big success.

A total of $3061 were raised by hungry Radical Reuben eaters & donations.

"Mickey & Jo", named after Chicago Diner’s founders, are two Muscovy ducks who were rescued by an NYC resident.

Both were found distressed & in poor shape, showing telltale signs of having escaped from some sort of livestock operation.

Their upper bills were cut, they were malnourished and the female had a severely broken wing (which had to be amputated), most likely from being brutally kicked or struck with an object.

Jo was taken in for care to Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary. Mickey, who proved more elusive to the rescue team was brought in later.

The reaction of the pair when reunited was truly heart-warming. They ran to each other, clucking gently & ‘embraced’ by wrapping their necks around each other, much to the awe of the volunteer staff at WFAS. Mickey & Jo are now recovering and are inseparable.

Chicago Diner customers donated $1200 towards their care & others. Thanks for supporting our friends at the Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary.

Our new Office Manager Jodie travelled to New York and visited the Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary this summer. She got to see the Chicago Diner sponsored muscovy ducks named "Mickey & Jo".
