MAKEOVER

Chicago Diner's new facade is nearly complete, with a lively color scheme & shiny new sign.

Just in time for the colorful celebration of the 41st Annual Chicago Pride Parade, Sunday June 27.

Chicago Diner, which is situated on the parade route, will be open all weekend. Even during and after the parade.

Halsted Street will be closed to vehicle traffic on Sunday from around 11am until around 5pm. Call for the latest info.

Enjoy the parade and come visit us. We will have an outdoor booth serving veggie refreshments.

NEW PATIO

Also, visit our delightful newly renovated outdoor patio. It provides extra seating, nice atmosphere & more room to enjoy your favorite vegetarian delights.

We are featuring refreshing Sangria & margaritas this weekend. What a fantastic way to spend a summer evening relaxing with friends.

Chilled Udon Noodles with Ginger Coconut Tofu Bites
over napa cabbage with peanut sauce, bean sprouts,
julienned carrots & scallions.

Vegan Special: BBQ “Beef”

Marinated seitan, grilled peppers & onions, tangy BBQ sauce
on a multi grain hoagie shown with sweet potato fries & a pickle.

The Chicago Reader's annual "Best of" issue has awarded Chicago Diner Best Vegan Restaurant for 2010!

Even though Chicago Diner is not 100% vegan, virtually all menu items are vegan or can be ordered vegan.

Including our popular vegan shakes featuring Temptation vegan ice cream & Teese Cheese for our Macaroni & Cheeze, both from Chicago Soy Dairy.

And now featuring tapioca based Daiya (pronounced "day-uh", yes we were saying it wrong too) Vegan Cheese.

And we feature trans-fat free: Earth Balance Margarine and Tofutti Better Than Cream Cheese & Sour Cream.

Now, The Chicago Diner is working to transition all dairy items to organic, local, non-factory farmed sources.
