Our Vegan Cowboy Chili tied for 2nd place in the 9th Annual Jack Daniels Chili Cookoff sponsored by The Chicago Area Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce held March 1 at Sidetrack, 3349 N Halsted.. Over 300 attendees tasted chili from 20 different eateries. J&L Catering walked off with top honors over runners-up Kit Kat Lounge and Chicago Diner. Our team did manage to win best presentation! Chef Jo Kaucher & Pastry Chef Malissa Winkowski presented a vegan cooking demo at the Chicago Flower & Garden Show March 8-16, 2008 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center. 27 local celebrity chefs participated in the event where attendees sampled the creations after the demonstration |
