Q. Do you take reservations?
A. Sorry due to our limited seating, we do not take reservations. To minimize any wait, we recommend dining off-peak: 12–2pm and 7–9pm are the busiest times.
Q. Do you give out recipes, for instance, for the Radical Reuben?
A. We post some recipes in our newsletter and there are over 100 recipes in our two cookbooks. The Radical Reuben is one of the recipes in our newest cookbook which you can buy at our online store.
Q. Can I order a gift certificate and have it sent to someone?
A. Yes! Visit our webstore where you can order gift cards, our latest cookbook, or t-shirts online using your major credit card.
Q. Would Chicago Diner be interested in making a donation to a cause or non-profit organization?
A. We have limited funds available to support the community, also to help wildlife, animal rights, the environment & promote vegetarianism.
Please send an email to: email@example.com with your request.
Q. Do you offer gluten free items?
A. We have a growing selection of gluten free options on our Gluten Free Menu (PDF). Ask your server for this menu when you are seated. Our bakery creates a daily gluten free dessert option and several of our soups are gluten free.
Q. I have a severe allergy to X. Can I dine at your restaurant or eat your baked goods?
A. Since our focus is on vegetarianism and offering a broad selection of menu items, we are not able to guarantee preparation of foods/desserts using equipment & utensils that have not also contacted potential allergens. Also, many foods are prepared in proximity to each other on shared equipment. Those with serious allergies should consider the risks before choosing to enjoy our foods/desserts.
Q. My child is allergic to nuts, eggs, and dairy, can we order a cake?
A. Our vegan cakes are not made with eggs or dairy (milk or butter). Also, some of our desserts do not contain nuts. However, we are not able to guarantee preparation of foods/desserts using equipment & utensils that have not also contacted potential allergens. Q. Do you offer cooking classes?
A. Sorry, we do not offer cooking classes.
Q. Do you cater?
A. We offer catering for pick up only. Our catering menu may be downloaded here.
Q. Do you do something for birthdays?
A. We formerly had complimentary dessert coupon for those on a special mailing list. Due to spamming problems, we have discontinued that mailing list and decided that anyone dining on their birthday will be treated to a piece of cake with their meal purchase, without a coupon. Just ask your server.
